Women Have Pressure to Appear Feminine

By Elen Hanszen

The media perpetuates a feminine stereotype of women, and they feel pressure to adhere to this. Techniques that these outlets use to manipulate photos of models and actresses add to their already stereotypical image of women. Generally, fuller lips, and cheeks, larger eyes and perfect skin is the order of the day in movies and on television. The desire by women to meet the ideal is strong, and it doesn't always require major surgery to achieve. More often than not, it's the little touches that make the big difference and starting small can preserve a more natural look and prevent you from looking like you've had major surgery.

The face has signs of aging in many areas, but the lips start to look aged earlier than other areas. The use of makeup can actually add to this issue, as the lines appear around the mouth and lips can appear to have less volume. A youthful and beautiful feature that is universally accepted are lips that are smooth and full. Fortunately, your lips are one of the simplest fixes without the need for surgery. Fullness can be increased by using fillers, and it is a more natural solution.

Perlane, Restylane, and Juvederm are examples of hyaluronic acid fillers that work better than semi or permanent filler types, in order to enhance the lips. This is because they are much more forgiving, do not tend to lump, and can be simply and easily adjusted.

Dark circles under your eyes, or even a hollowness above your cheekbones is easily improved using a similar method as with the lips. The muscles of your lower eyelids are the cause of chronic dark circles, as they can be seen through the thinner skin under the eye lid. The dark and depressed area will appear more prominent as less subcutaneous fat fills the space in between the skin and muscles there. People will not be able to tell that this process has occurred when it is done by an expert doctor and adjustments are made following the treatment.

A feminine look does not include having lines and wrinkles on the brows or forehead. Maintaining a youthful appearance is a large part of looking feminine because it's these features in women that are signs of femininity. Reducing lines on the forehead with good mobility and decreasing the amount of crow's feet or brow pinch, and slightly lifted eyebrows are what a majority in society consider beautiful. Done properly, a Botox treatment should allow you to have natural expressions.

Flawless skin has always been the ideal for beauty and as we all age, men and women alike, our skin develops flaws and spots that may not have been there when we were young. Chemical peels are a way to offset some of these results of aging, but the type of peel that is most suitable can sometimes be hard to decipher.

There are a lot of things that a chemical peel can treat, including acne issues, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots as well as replacing some skin elasticity. A chemical peel is a simpler and better option in many cases to get rid of the extra lower eyelid skin, than to have a surgery performed. A chemical peel in the eyelid region is a minimally invasive procedure that preserves your natural features while rejuvenating your appearance.
