How To Burn Fat With Interval Training

By Pete Fry

There are many methods of burning fat, but one of the best is interval training! Interval training is made up of periods of effort and periods of rest. Workouts should be short and intense as this is way to get the best fat loss results!

Long slow cardio like jogging is commonly thought to be the best kind of training for fat loss but you have to do a lot of it before you see any results. Conversely, a quality interval workout can take only 15 minutes!

You can perform interval training in a number of ways and with a number of exercises and there are many good choices when it comes to fat loss. Sprinting, body weight exercises and resistance exercises are all good choices, but the more explosive movements are the best for fat loss.

Here's how to perform an interval workout - warm up fully and then do this for a total of 4 times - Sprint 200m, then rest for 1 minute 30 seconds.

When you sprint, go as quickly as you can as training like this works your muscles hard, meaning you'll generate lots of lactic acid - a precursor to fat loss! You don't have to stick to sprinting though - you can also use exercises such as The Burpee.

Burpees are a great bodyweight conditioning exercise. To perform the burpee, start in a standing position, then crouch and place your hands down on the floor in front. Kick back your legs so that your body is straight - like he top of a press up. Then drop down to floor and do a pressup. Kick your legs back in, stand back up, jump, then clap your hands above your head as you jump.

Here's how to perform an interval workout using burpees...perform as many burpees as you can in 1 minute. Rest 60 - 120 seconds. Repeat 3 -5 times. But beware ! Burpees are evil so go easy if you've never done them before!

Using interval training is a great way to burn fat as your body is working at high intensity - one of secrets to fat loss success!
